Hey everyone! today i want to tell you a story. This story is an example of a situation happening to many young adults in this country right as i speak. It's the year 2010! the car industry has advanced tremendously and the desires of buying a new sport cars grow as a weed! Carlos has worked all his teenage years trying to save up for that new 2010 chevy camaro. The car with the perfect sparkly rims, an attractive sport body, the coolest paint job and many more improvements that a regular car lacks. Every paycheck would go right to the bank to Carlos's savings account and the money sign would sparkle on his eyes as he'd walk out of the bank every two weeks.
Carlos has saved up almost $30,000 after three years of continous savings and allowances his diabetical grandpa gave him every once in while, he got to buy his dream car! As a kid with a new toy, Carlos would take pictures of his new car, layed on the hood of the car possing a beach model and many other riduculous things a teenage boy would do.
Carlos would never think that after saving numerous amounts of money he would not be able to drive his own car. Carlos was not able to buy gasoline. He had money to buy gas and many gallons at the time but he just could not buy fuel for his monster machine.
THE END
Now i know you're thinking " wait a minute, this is a story without a point" right? well ladies and gentleman i am here to tell you that this story has a very good point! This same problem is exactly what is happening to thousands of students here in the US every single year. I may be using this paraticular story as an analogy of the problem but the problem itself stills there. YES EVERYONE! i am talking about THE DREAMers! The DREAMers are individuals who on no fault on their own are here in this country illegally. These talented students go throught the american school system graduating with flawless grades and awards yet they're told they can't make it to college. They can't make it because of thier undocumented status in this country. These students have bought the sport car but yet have no gasoline to drive it. They have the potential to do so much for the community and the economy, and we americans throw all this talent to the waste dump. Let's remember these kids weren't asked to come here the way they did. They simply followed their parents.
Wouldn't you have done the same thing?...
Dream Act 2010...IT'S TIME!
