Hi everybody, I am a new DREAM Agent. I would like to start out by thanking Alonso for giving me this opportunity to blog along with other DREAM Agents, DREAMers and supporters.
In the days that follow, I plan to blog about my experience as a DREAMer, things I encounter, and the plans and events for supporting the DREAM Act & CIR. Currently, I am in charge of advertising for the DREAM Act support group at my University, so I plan on updating you all on our success as well.
I thought it would be nice to start the blog with a quote I read too many times in elementary school posted on a banner in one of my classrooms: "Reach for the moon! Even if you miss, you will land among the stars." Like many DREAMers, I have reached for the moon, a moon full of dreams of success and wishes to become the best. A dream to be able to positively change peoples' lives and be able to travel and discover what God has created. A dream of success full of opportunity and happiness.
Even though current circumstance may not allow us to achieve our moon, we can , should, and will keep reaching, because like the quote says, even if we miss we will still land among the stars. I know it can seem very difficult at times to continue pursuing our dreams but we must remain motivated. Perseverance is one thing we are all familiar with and we need to continue fighting for our dreams. We are capable of overcoming obstacles, which in effect makes us stronger. And for those times that we are not as strong, we have our families, supporters and each other to keep feeding our drive.
I hope that I will be able to positively influence you with my blogs and life experiences.
