WA Dream Act Yakima Herald Republic Call of Action

As the Washington State DREAM Act (H.B.1817) passed in the Higher Education Committee on Thursday February 21, 2013 we made history.

We decided to take action to defend education equality. The vote turn out was 14-4, including 5 Republican Supporters. 

But then again the Education Committee meet 110 people the morning of the hearing with all in favor of the bill and zero against. To me, that's what community looks like.

As of Today, we now have 7 total Republican Co-Sponsors for WA DREAM Act with Yakima Rep. Charles Ross and Rep. Bruce Chandler have taken the DREAM Pledge to stand for equality.

The Yakima Herald came out with a Editorial supporting the legislation and the Co-Sponsorship of Rep. Ross and Rep. Chandler.
