Dear DREAM Agents...

Dear DREAM Agents,

I missed blogging! Life has been a little crazy with finals but it made me realize how much emotionally beneficial it is to write what’s on your mind. So what’s on my mind???

Here in Washington State we started the Washington DREAM Act Coalition and after only a couple weeks I feel like we’ve made great progress. I was one of 5 members who had the amazing opportunity to meet with our Gov. to share our stories with her and also to ask for her support. It was an interesting experience and it’s one of those things that I never thought I’d be doing…

Me? Meet the Gov. and share my identity and story with a stranger? Me… have the courage to make a difference?

YES ME! And I’m so glad to see that I’m not the only one finding inner strength to push for the DREAM Act. Inner strength is what keeps us cool when you’re about to go mad and it’s also what keeps us together as a collective group. Inner strength is what me and 65 other undocumented students found when we took individual pictures holding up a sign saying

Senator Cantwell and Murray

Change Takes Courage

My name is…

“so and so”

And I’m an Undocumented Student

Now is Your Time to LEAD for the Comprehensive Immigration Reform

Thank you DREAM Agents and DREAM Act Activist! Thank you for finding the inner strength to make a difference that not only directly affects us but thousands of other students who still haven’t found the inner strength to stand up and fight. Lets reach out and encourage those who are still afraid to get involved with our movements. Lets also have patience for those who can’t see our hopes, dreams, success and ambition because they can’t get past the fact that we’re undocumented.

The march in Washington DC is tomorrow so good luck to all of our friends, families and allies who are attending the movement. Lets make history! Lets make my DREAMs, your DREAMs, their DREAMs and our DREAMS a reality!

DREAM Agent,

TS
