Dear President Obama,
The DREAM Act and the Comprehensive Immigration Reform cannot wait any longer to be passed. Every year that passes by, approximately 65,000 undocumented students are unable to attain higher levels of education because of their immigration status and many families are separated. Thousands of undocumented youth, most of which are extremely talented, are turned away by the current system. They are unable to fund their education because most states (39) do not allow them to pay instate tuition and even more states do not provide them with financial aid even though most have been here for the vast majority of their lives, pay taxes or have parents that pay taxes every year, and have beaten the odds despite the inequality in education in their segregated neighborhood schools. What America has to realize, is that these talented and valuable students are the future. They currently have to overcome so may obstacles that have made them strong and brave individuals who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
Today, I humbly ask you to please encourage legislators to pass the DREAM Act an CIR as soon as possible so that the DREAM Act students can continue to purse their dreams and aspirations and in the process, improve the United States. These students have the potential to change the world; all they need is an opportunity to do so.
Sincerely,
Dream Agent CC
