Dear President Obama,
I believe that we are all DREAMERS. We DREAM of success, adventures, love and for a better tomorrow.
When I was eight years old my DREAM was to be an Astronaut. Through naïve eyes I believed it was the only job occupation that allowed me to be free, ride the stars and venture into the unknown. Ten years later, I realize that being an Astronaut isn’t my calling but my DREAM remains alive.
I DREAM of being free, ride the stars and venture into the unknown... and I'm ready to launch.
My DREAM is what helps me get up in the morning and encourages me throughout the day. I work two jobs, take care of my sibling, do community service and have leadership roles. I guess you can say I’m your typical college student with typical college problems. This includes relationships, learning from experiences, finding new interests, struggling to pay for tuition and still finding time to spend with the people that matter to me. What sets me apart from the “typical” college student is that I carry an extra burden that gets harder and harder to carry every day.
My name is TS. A proud Latina who sees the sacrifice that her parents have made to give her an education. To many I am a friend, neighbor, companion, partner, sister and daughter. I’m am a DREAMER who aims high, takes nothing for advantage and is grateful for the opportunities accessible to her. My name is TS , an undocumented student and a DREAM Act candidate.
Not having documents has only fed my fire, makes me work harder and DREAM bigger. It’s comforting to know that I am not alone since more then 65,000 students currently find themselves in this situation. President Obama, I urge you to please pass the DREAM Act. I along with thousands of other students only DREAM to be free, ride the stars and go into the unknown.
We are ready to launch in 5.. 4... 3... 2 ...
We can't get to 1 till the DREAM Act passes. Won’t you help us launch our DREAMS?
Dream Agent,
TS
